Cons: Flounders at points and seems lose direction at times

Buy it. If not now...then, well, borrow it.

Pros: Controversial -- you may fight this book all the way through (That's a good thing)
Cons: Disconnected and broad, may be difficult to follow (That COULD be a good thing.)
And before you do buy this book, make sure you read Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud first.
